Trevor Beattie and I came up with this idea while enjoying a coffee in St Marks Square in Venice. Very nice. Advertising was like that in those days. I scribbled the FCUK FASHION idea down on a napkin, and we pitched it in London two days later. We had the napkin framed and still swap it between us every six months. And that’s how the FCUK campaign was born.
