Entertainment

Jay’s first non-brand television entertainment work was the creation of Gogglebox forerunner, Flipside TV. This successful format, ran for some 130 episodes across Paramount Comedy and Channel 4.

He followed this by forming the production company Colour TV in 2005 and making the outrageous late night comedy hit – What The F**k!?

The first Colour TV commission was the radio documentary for BBC Radio 2, Dusty In Memphis.

A number of Colour TV’s factual entertainment formats have also been optioned by other producers, including One Millionaires, and Be Your Own Boss.

In 2010, Colour TV completed the second series of the primetime comedy The International Sexy Ladies Show which Jay also directed, for Comcast’s G4 channel in the US.

In 2014 Colour TV created is the outrageous Comedy Central hit KSI Demolished, which continues to deliver jaw-dropping online viewing numbers for Viacom. Be warned. The KSI link here, featuring Bobby Mair is considered to be very offensive. It recently passed the 7 million views mark.

The Bobby Mair Show followed in 2015. The US commision Jack and Dean of All Trades was created in 2016 and ran for two seasons. Another US commision was James Veitch’s hit series Veitch 101, also in 2016.

2017 saw commisions from Vimeo in the US and Sky in the UK for two different shows with The Midnight Beast, All Killer and Valentine. Colour TV also co-produced All Killer with Live Nation for a month-long run at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Jay also works as a commercials and entertainment director independently of Colour TV. Recent successes have included the Studio Sixty Billion produced Richard Bacon Stateside for BBC Radio 2, and Number 6, the 15 episode stand-up comedy series he produced in 2018 for the new Yanga! channel.

2018 also saw the beginnings of a new era for Colour TV with the co-production of the theatrically released feature film – Together. Following this success, there are now more features in development.

Never short of ideas and enthusiasm for brands, Jay continues to combine his position as an ad agency creative director with his role as a writer, producer and director at Colour TV and Studio Sixty Billion.
